What do you eat for breakfast everyday? If I am eating on my own, i will usually have my hot piping rolled oats, yoghurt or milk before i leave for school and these home-made granolas serve well as a topping. Rolled oats, yoghurt and milk are healthier breakfast choices compared to the local delights such as pancakes, fried beehoon, dough fritters etc... These healthier breakfast choices are perfect for people who are on diet. Skipping breakfast does not help you to lose weight. If you are thinking of skipping breakfast to cut down the amount of food consumed in a day to lose weight, then you are wrong! One should eat proper meals. Healthy and nutritious meals. Meals that energised and keep you full. Alternatively, you can break down the usual 3 heavy meals into multiple small meals in a day. Eating small meals not only speed up metabolism and help to burn calories, they also regulate blood sugar level, control cravings and keep hunger at bay. This is the way to go! So, do not skip meals! Rolled oats, yoghurt and milk are nutritious and keep you full for a long time. However, they would not be healthy anymore if you add excessive toppings. Do moderate the amount of toppings you add. Of course, the healthier choice of topping will be fresh fruits instead of these sweet and crunchy toppings. But, a moderate serving is fine! They add crunch and flavor to your rolled oats, yoghurt and milk. Instead of the fruity cereals like honey stars, coco crunch etc, i actually prefer granolas. Just personal preference i guess. What i like about home-made toppings is that you can adjust the amount of sugar and toppings you want. You can add any toppings you like; nuts, dried fruits, chocolate chips, marshmallow etc... I only had cranberries and rolled oats on hand. So, i just settled with that two ingredients. The granolas sold in the supermarket is way overpriced. $5-$6^ for a medium sized pack of granolas, why not just make them at home? Get creative with your toppings too!
